Programs & CSR / Women Empowerment
Thinking about gender equality and feminism in itself is a very contradictory view. Why in today’s society only one gender needs to prove to be equal when the fact is that in any society men and women have equally important yet different roles to play. Studies too have shown that mental and physical strength varies from person to person and depends more on upbringing, and training rather than the Gender. On the contrary women are more strategic, rational and better Planner than the male counterparts.
Having said that we can also understand few facts about some biological limitations when it comes to producing children and menstruation but these limitations have never been any Kind of hindrance in the achievement of women and history is the witness. Women Executives are fully unaware of their simple basic rights, like for example the Maternity Benefits; Majority of female employees Do Not know that as per the Maternity Benefit Act 1961, No Company can retrench their Pregnant Staff Members as it penalizes such erring employees, for Three Months of imprisonment and jail.
Today barely 10% of Corporate Board Seats are occupied by Women. For every 9 Men who get Equity Financing, Only 1 woman is considered. The average Full-Time weekly wage of a women is 18.2% lesser than a man. ICHR’s Specially designed programs will facilitate knowledge and exchange between women employees at all levels of the organizations, both as a means of career advancement and to better respond to the needs of those female employees who face specific work-related barriers.
Program modules designed especially for Women Empowerment will address issues like Women being best in multitasking, having women in leadership roles for Gendered equality, striving to proving there Mattel more than men, inequality in salaries, lower rate of promotion, sexual harassments/ exploitations, stop in the growth after Maternity breaks, lack of opportunities and many more. Women are by and large not really encouraged in leadership roles BUT being a developing Nation, the more our women are economically independent, more will our country move towards holistic Development.
As said earlier it is not only the inequality between Gender, but Inequality of economic opportunities and financial independence.
